Technology firm Bizerba from Balingen will be presenting the A 510 slicer and the compact, fully automatic GLM-E machine for weight-specific pricing and product labelling at the Alimentaria from 19th to 22th in April (Hall 3; Stand D 380).
Not only can the A 510 slice, fan and stack meat, sausage and cheese, it can now also weigh – and that in the same process. “Many years of experience in the food industry mean we fully understand the needs of our customers. Many of them are having to deal with an increasing space problem and are looking for machines designed to help them. With the A 510, we are responding to exactly this need” says Andreas Gmelin, Head of Food Processing Market at Bizerba.
The A 510 is also extremely easy to clean and, most importantly, is safe to operate. Able to be used across the board and designed to cope with the demands of continuous operation, this machine also has a user-friendly touchscreen which allows operators to save individual parameters such as the number or thickness of slices and the number of portions. “The A 510 slices more rapidly and is even stronger and more hardwearing than the previous model. That makes it ideal for production plants which have to cut large quantities every day and supply these products to the catering industry, airlines or specialist stores”, explains Gmelin.
Customers who initially buy a standard machine without scales can still test the weighing function with a free trial version for a limited period of time and, if they wish, retrofit the machine at a later date. Setting the quantity for slicing with the weighing function is incredibly simple. For example, if you want 100 grams of sausage, the A 510 cuts the relevant number of slices at the same thickness. Once the free licence has expired, retailers can easily extend the licence by entering a code number on the touchscreen.
For subsequent labelling by price and product, Bizerba will be presenting the GLM-E labelling machine at the Anuga FoodTec. This compact, fully-automated machine with a high quality aluminium frame can be used for labelling in retail, trade and small industrial plants. “The system can be flexibly adapted to the customer’s needs. It can either be used as an independent device with a manual feed or be integrated into existing production lines. This then enables fully-automated pricing”, says Matthias Harsch, spokesman for Bizerba management.
The system is available in two models: GLM-E 40 with an internal operating terminal for a throughput of up to 50 packages a minute, and GLM-E 50 (70) with an external operating terminal for throughputs of 50 and 70 packages a minute. A top labeller with a blow applicator and integrated ¼ VGA operating unit are included with the GLM-E 40. Users can connect up to two labellers to the GLM-E 50 (70) and select whether these use blow or stamp applicators. Control in this case is via the external operating terminals GT-6M or GT-12C.
All labellers in the GLM-E range have space for label rolls with a maximum diameter of 300 millimetres and sturdy plastic casing. Maintenance of the devices is extremely quick and economical thanks to Bizerba e-services. “Should a fault occur, our staff can carry out a fault analysis online and quickly get back to the customer with help and advice", continues Harsch. Costly downtime can thus be avoided.
